There is a wonderful selection of locally grown /raised produce, meats, honey, etc. Also, several local restaurants (South American, Jamaican, Greek, and sometimes Mexican, Italian, etc offer a sampling from their menu. There is also a local winery represented and homemade ice cream/Italian ice. I love their wine flavored ice cream, yes I said wine flavored ice cream. The best part I found out after talking to the vendor is that they use the wine from the same winery that is at the fair. I forgot to mention the nut seller, multiple homemade baked goods, wood crafts, and a whole bunch of interesting things. In summary, this is a wonderful place for couples, kids, etc. The only minor issue is parking. However, when parking on Raymond Av is full, you will have to park on a side street. Also bring at least $20.00 in cash, since only one vendor takes credit/debit cards. So if you want to buy dinner, ice cream cone, a bottle of wine, produce, etc; come on out; it is the highlight of the summer. -- John Christopherson |
