Chesapeake Farmers Market I, Virginia
I hear the Chesapeake markets are great, but I want to correct the misconception created by another reviewer: not all the other markets in the region are resale markets! The Portsmouth Olde Towne Farmers' Market is proud of its direct-from-the-farmer sales. We allow cooperative agreements between farmers but only allow resales of special Virginia grown/produced items, like Caromont cheese. Many of our farmers also sell at other markets in the region during the week. -- Terry Danahr

Today (Saturday, July 17, 2010) I headed down to the Chamber of Commerce parking lot at 7:30 a.m. I wanted to visit the local Farmers Market. Have you been? Oh, my goodness! What an experience you’ve been missing if you haven’t. There are fresh vegetables, fruits and farm-fresh eggs all beckoning for your attention and purchase.
