Dale City Farmers Market, Virginia
Enough with the Commercial Bakeries! I'm disappointed that there are commercial vendors (mainly bakeries)at the market. I can go into any grocery store and buy commercial bread or into their stores; can't understand why they are at Farmer's Markets. The purpose of Farmer's Markets is get to products from small seller's not those producing in commercial facilities. I travel outside of this county to have actual Homemade Artisan Breads produced by people working hard in their homes, not with massive equipment that produces in large quantities; the quality of these commercial bakeries is equivalent to going in for bread at a local grocery store!
I really enjoy the produce vendors, the herbs/spice man with lavender, the goat cheese vendor, pickle people! -- Cheryl

St. Andrews Waterfront Market, Florida
I went there for the first time with family since moving here in November. Was a bit disappointed in seeing the fruit/vegetable vendors selling (for the most part) non organically grown produce. there didn't seem to be emphasis on organic or homemade. Seeing produce from the grocery store at a farmers market is contrary to the whole concept. Probably won't go back for this reason, even though kids loved the ferry ride, I thought the live music was very nice, and the kettle corn rocked. Just not enough locally grown produce. I'd rather not see any produce at all if it's out of season than buy an inferior product. -- megan
