To say that the vegetables & fruits are fresh is an understatement. You just can't get anything this fresh in a grocery store. I found some interesting and unusual things, too. All kinds / colors of peppers to make my sweet pepper salads, many kinds of squash and eggplants, low acid heirloom tomatoes (for sensitive stomach) that were the finest I've EVER tasted, and silver queen corn so tender and sweet! Fresh coffee, ground or beans, (the Cosmic Bean) was a treat. And one stand offered the most amazing variety of jellies and preserves. The bakery offered delicious pastry and breads. I always buy bread and scones from his stand. Overall, the freshest food can be found at the local farmers market. And in addition to getting the best food for my money (budget conscious), I get to directly support local farmers. Local farms need our support to survive these rough economic times. Its a win-win situation that can't be beat.

I bought Eggs and beef from a local farm, Ivy Neck Farm - Hope they return as the beef ground and burger packs were the best meat I've ever had. Eggs also fresh and excellent.
